Sock Monkey Instructions (7/16/02)
I got sock monkey fever real bad a couple of years ago after I saw some on the merch table of a local band. "They're sorta like our mascot."
When I found out that the band members and their little girlfriends made them, I BURNED to make one too.Click the monkey, hey hey!
A few weeks later I saw a commercial for Intel that featured a sock monkey and I became obsessed.
I finally found a source for the socks and started making them. It was crazy easy. (Back then, I had to mail order the socks, but these days Michael's carries the socks and instructions.)
They're quite cool in an old school retro way. And I don't know about you, but they make me smile.

Go forth and make one. Or make a gang of 'em!
Put one in your car to keep you company on that morning commute. Put one near your computer. Have one on your desk at work...Click the monkey to go to the intructions.

This pattern is from copy of the 11th edition of Smart Knitting magazine that I got at a flea market. This magazine had no size chart or schematics, but going by another knitting magazine I found from 1954, bust sizes are as follows:
Size 12 = 34", Size 14 = 36" and Size 16 = "38".
